News from Ballerup
11th December 2009
On the 3rd of November I went to "Hedegaards skolen" to visit the grade 5 and started the drawing competitions.
We had a very good discussion about the project, about health and their ideas and what to be done. They had many ideas about how to work with the Healthy Young Minds project and were very interested in the web page.
The classroom has a "Smart board" so it is very easy for the hole class to follow what is going on.
To start the project and the competitions we did it like this:
- What do you think when you hear the word Health?
- Try to draw or paint what you think about Health!
The task was to make simple pictures in strong colors.
I received many very good pictures. They are all placed in the Multimedia gallery on this website. Click here to se the pictures.
There was a clear difference between what the girls and the boyes did think about.
Then we talked about if the Spanish students would choose the 1 of the paintings to be used on top of the web (together with a Spanish picture which the Danes would chose).
The winner will be the class and we will give them a basked of nice and healthy stuff, ex juice, smoothes, dried fruit m.m.
I also had a good talk with some of the teachers from the project, and they will start the work with the students after Christmas.
Many regards from Käthe.
HYM is starting in Granollers! 7th December 2009
Two training sessions about IVAC methodology were organized in November in Joan Solans School in Granollers. The first session was dedicated to the presentation of the Comenius project and IVAC methodology. Also it was agreed a calendar to develop the different phases of the methodology. The second session was more practical, and a teacher that worked last year with IVAC methodology in the framework of Avall project, presented different examples of activities developed with IVAC to show the diversity of actions and changes that could be done with this methodology. It was really interesting to hear from a teacher, the concrete steeps followed from investigation to arrive to a change, in a real case.
Around 15 teachers from all the school attended to the meeting. They were excited to start to work with Ballerup, specially the students exchanging their ideas!
